Chef Vuktor Lutz of Vineyard Gourmet Catering is very knowledgeable about cooking gluten-free. I spoke with him about the growing demand for gluten-free catering in the Temecula Valley. It is an issue that he has tried to incorporate into his everyday business. The salads, mashed potatoes, and the meat dishes (sans sauce) were gluten-free!
The chef from Los Reyes Bar & Grill assured me that the rice and beans as well as the Carnitas Colorado were gluten-free. I was happy to hear this...and spent the majority of my time at Taste of La Cresta enjoying dinner and a margarita from Los Reyes while listening amazing flamenco guitarists.









For dessert, I had the pleasure of tasting the best toffee in the world. McCall's Toffee (http://mccallsconfections.com/) is a Murrieta-based confectioner making the most delicious toffee in the country. The candies are comprised of rich, buttery toffee and decadent chocolate and nuts. They make five flavors. I had the Dark & Spicy Almond Toffee and the White Chocolate Coconut Macadamia Nut Toffee. Both were amazing and gluten-free. It was the perfect end to the perfect day.
I highly recommend that you all mark your calenders for the annual Taste of La Cresta.
