Sundance Harvest Market

Every Autumn, local artisans, food purveyors, and musicians gather at Robert Redford's stunning Sundance Resort for the Sundance Harvest Market.  Set in Utah's picturesque Wasatch Mountain Range, Sundance Resort is a dreamy place that attracts visitors from all across the country and world.  Although known primarily for its association with the wintertime Sundance Film Festival, Sundance Resort boasts year-round diversions and a variety of outdoor activities.  Sundance Harvest Market is one of the resort's seasonal events.

This year's Harvest Market took place on September 24, 2011 and the No Excuses Gluten Free girls were truly honored and excited to be featured as vendors.  Thanks to Sarah, we were fortunate enough to have the chance to sell our cookbook and hand out samples. Sundance Resort in the fall is an exceptionally beautiful sight to see.  We had visited Sundance for the first time in the Summer -- in August -- and it was bright and warm.  However, for me, Summer Sundance was eclipsed in beauty by Autumn Sundance.  When we arrived on the 22nd, the leaves were beginning to change colors.  Being from Southern California, fall foliage is not something I get to enjoy each year.  At Sundance, the leaves actually change colors; Fall actually looks different than Summer!  We were informed by the locals that in a few weeks, the entire mountainside would be covered in oranges, reds, and pinks.  For us, there were just patches of these gorgeous hues; but I happen to love patches of color!

On the day of the event we arrived at Ray's Lawn bright and early to set up the tent.  Luckily the thing went up without a hitch.  Thanks to the invaluable assistance of our mother Dolores and our friend Andie, the whole day was smooth sailing.  The 800 samples that we prepared in advance were gone by 3pm when the event didn't even end until 4pm.  Happily, our booth was extremely busy the entire day.  As soon as the samples were out on the table there was a steady stream of patrons eager to try the delectables.  People from New York, California, Australia, and more came by the booth, chatted with us, and purchased the book.  In the end, we sold a great number of books and made so many new friends.

Goodies.

Post Event Drewski at the Owl Bar :)

After it was all over we headed down to The Owl Bar at Sundance Resort.  It was the perfect end to the perfect day.  Hope to be back there again next year!
