Have you been to the Wynn?? (http://wynnlasvegas.com) If you have not you are missing out on the BEST place in Vegas!! We absolutely loved the place! It is totally gorgeous and amazing. Literally, you can spend your entire Vegas Vacation within the confines of the Wynn and never feel deprived...even when it comes to your gluten-free dining needs. Each restaurant at the Wynn has an "allergen menu". While they do not have a gluten-free menu yet (ahem...are you listening Steve?!?) they do make a good effort to accommodate their gluten-free guests.
We stumbled into the Switch Steak (http://www.wynnlasvegas.com/dining/switch-steak) at about 11p.m. and managed to have an amazing gluten-free experience. The place is called "Switch" because the walls and ceilings of the restaurant "switch" and change as you are sitting and eating dinner. It is very Vegas and mysterious....First off, we started off with Grilled Onions and Jalapenos and Butternut Squash Soup with Apples. Then we moved onto the main course...an scrumptious Tandoori Chicken with Heirloom Vegetables. It was incredible. Everything about it was delicious. I have to say, although I would not normally order a $30 chicken dish...it was the best chicken I have ever had. So, all in all, the "Switch Room" was great. Of course we also enjoyed the obligatory Tequila Shots and gluten-free ice cream!! Nothing here is cheap...so be prepared to spent at least $100-150 before tip!!On a side note, we had a very chipper and entertaining waiter named Declan who happened to be from Ireland. He recognized yours truly as the Southern California Rose, 2010. Apparently he watched me on Irish National Television during the Rose of Tralee International Festival...to make the evening more synchronistic...there was a lovely Irish couple sitting across the room from Co. Limerick! What a small world...All the Irish together at once in the same restaurant in Vegas...so random!! To my sweet friend Claire Brouder (whom I have deemed the Las Vegas Rose 2010), I hope to see you again at the Wynn...we will show them how to party Irish-style ;)
