Serendipity 3 is a very famous restaurant on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.  Everyone has probably heard of it due to the movie "Serendipity" starring Kate Beckinsale and John Cusack.  The restaurant originally opened in 1954 in Manhattan and now includes several other locations, including one at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas.  We rolled into Las Vegas one morning when it was over 100 degrees out.  Friends of ours were staying at Caesar's and while wandering around, we found ourselves at Serendipity 3.  It was a little before 11 am and the place was packed.  I was interested in the breakfast menu so I added myself to the list to be seated in the dining room.  After a short wait, we gave up on that idea and decided to check out the "Serendipity-To-Go" menu.  For the take out menu, you basically order whatever you want at a counter, pay, and wait for your food.  There is a covered seating area nearby (like a mall food court).  The lady who helped us with our order was familiar with gluten free; but to make things easy we just opted for a classic hot fudge sundae (~ $10) and a banana split (~ $12).  No complaints!  Both were delicious and the servings were HUGE.  What a nice way to start a crazy day in Las Vegas.  Ice cream for breakfast?  Sure, why not?  Besides, the banana split had bananas and strawberries -- fruit!  Not so unhealthy after all.  We did not try the famous "Frrrrozen Hot Chocolate" -- maybe that will have to be breakfast on our next trip to Vegas.
